We recently redesigned Lab-Aids.com and added enhanced shopping cart capabilities. Customers are able to search and browse all products and see their contract pricing as well as add their own product reviews.

This cart is a nice blend of HTML and database functionality which makes product maintenance simple and product presentation more flexible than an "off-the-shelf" shopping cart could provide.

Lab-Aids also manages thousands of e-book subscriptions for school districts across the nation using a custom subscription interface we built for them.

Johnson-Rose Corporation

Johnson Rose is a wholesaler, so their site cannot really be considered a full shopping cart, but they do have sophisticated integration with JIMS, their business system developed by Copeland Data Systems. Using CONNX, their website connects with their business system so information is updated in real-time. Johnson Rose manages products, sales rep territories, and bulletin board items ("New & News"). Their site is bilingual (English and Spanish versions).

ScienceEnthusiast.com is another dynamic, database-driven e-commerce site that securely processes credit cards in real-time though Authorize.Net.

Although it does not tie into a CDS business system, items are managed in a similar way with a VB.NET interface to remote databases on the web server.

ScienceEnthusiast.com recently launched a forum to act as a product knowledgebase as well as scientific discussion board.

HomeAirTreatment.com is a basic e-commerce site with only a handful of products. Therefore, there is no need for extensive category navigation or item search functionality.

Item maintenance is handled through editing HTML pages, which allows the designer a great deal of control over look and product layout as opposed to a database-driven site. The site processes credit cards in real-time with Authorize.Net.

Small e-commerce sites like this make it easy to manage pay-per-click advertising campaigns on Google.com or Overture.com, or list their products on sites like Froogle.com or Shopping.com.

Niagara Frontier Equipment Sales

Niagara Frontier Equipment Sales came to us with a need for a website that can feature hundreds of pieces of equipment at a time, and since they are in the business of equipment sales and rentals, their inventory changes almost daily.

We built a content management system for them where they can upload an Excel spreadsheet and photos to their website to update inventory and product information.

They also manage their own "splash" ad on the home page, newsletters, and featured equipment listings without HTML knowledge or programming.

Previously, their website was designed and maintained internally, but in early 2006, they contracted us to revamp the site with a modern look and to optimize it by removing all the slow "FrontPage Extensions" upon which it was previously constructed.

Their site is rich with content and serves as a communication channel with their customers and sales reps as well as an important lead-generation tool.

We developed this small site for him and set up two payment options - Authorize.Net's payment gateway and PayPal "Buy It Now" buttons for domestic and international purchases.

Steve sold his hamstretch business in 2008, so we kept our archive as an example of a simple ecommerce site we can develop.
